Government

Keep policy connected to how government works

Help teams understand what applies, how policy connects to procedures, processes and controls, and what may be affected when something changes.

Parliament House, Canberra

When responsibilities change, what else needs to change?

Government agencies translate legislation and policy into decisions and services across teams, functions and systems.

Policy changes. Responsibilities move. Programs are redesigned. Systems are replaced.

The challenge is understanding what those changes affect — and whether the policies, procedures, processes and controls that support service delivery still reflect what the organisation intends.

Change of address and payments
Does a client's payment stop straight away if they move interstate?
No. Payments continue while eligibility is reassessed. The client has 14 days to report the move, and a review starts once it's recorded.
What evidence do we need from them?
Proof of the new address, such as a lease or utility bill, per Eligibility Procedures v3 §5.4. If they can't provide it, a delegate can accept a signed declaration. Eligibility Procedures v3
